Gajiganna Youth Development Initiative (GYDI) held her first Annual Executive and Trustees meeting with a theme tagged “Move Gajiganna Forward” yesterday Sunday 2nd January 2022 at the Maiduguri NULGE office.

The Chief Host of the event, Alhaji Zanna Bukar Bundi which was ably represented by the former provost College of Health Technology Maiduguri in person of Alhaji Bukar Modu Mitturum expressed his profound gratitude for being part of this wonderful event which he describes it as a “historic event” in the history of Gajiganna district. He gave a heart touching message to the youths and crave their indulgence to focus more on their education and always distance themselves from any form of chaos.

He also added that his gigantic support is always ready toward the growth and development of this prestigious Community Based Organization (GYDI) and prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection.

In same vein, the Special Guest of Honour, Alhaji Bukar Majama expressed his joy and gave kudos to the Youths for bringing the prominent personalities within the nooks and crannies of the District/Ward to this historical and topical gathering. Ba Majama also gave his words of encomium and called on all the sons and daughters of Gajiganna to give their unflinching support to these Youths in propagating the mission of our dear ancestral District/Ward and Local Government as well as State at large.

In his speech “I am most humbled and enormously delighted to be the Special Guest of Honour in this auspicious and eventful occasion organized by Gajiganna Youth Development Initiative (GYDI).

The initiative by our youths in engaging themselves and shaping the destiny of our ancestral home (Gajiganna) is a welcome idea an intervention worthwhile. The youths in any given situation and under whatever circumstances are the engine room for peace, unity and development.

We need to work together with the District Head, Village Heads, Ward Heads and leaders of the L.G.A, in order to ensure we overcome the issue of insecurity, low level of literacy and unemployment.

It is noteworthy to point out that I am privileged to have been the first Chairman of Magumeri Development Association (MADA) and have positively impacted greatly toward its wellbeing at its embryonic stage. And still is doing wonderfully well towards that.

I am also excited to bring to your notice that, the current Chairman of Magumeri L.G.A Engr. Dr. Ali Lawan Yaumi MNSE is performing well in areas of Education, Health, Agriculture, Construction, Water and other strategic component of our key infrastructures. He need our encouragement and support.

The Chairman is a consummate educationist and administrator per excellent and we are proud to have him at the helms of affairs. His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum Mni FNSE, is a working machine and a great developer. We must all identify with his laudable achievements he made so far.

I will also like to seize this opportunity to laud, the Initiative of the organizers of this event for their courageous attempt at bringing all sons and daughters of Gajiganna together for the sake of peace, unity and development.

I advise you to put your heads together and always keep in mind your set goals and aims of giving good things of life to our esteemed populations.

At this juncture, I wish to thank the leadership of Gajiganna Youth Development Initiative (GYDI) for their untiring effort and commitment in doing the needful at the right time and I also urge them to pay attention to their studies and be respectful and law abiding to the constituted authority.

Finally, I am pleading to you all to help our youth to achieve their noble ideals and common cause. May Almighty Allah help you all actualize your dream.” Ba Majama.
